Australian Digital Theses Project

Found this website today, it is a project run by Australian Universities to make Theses available online. The theses are all in pdf format. After some searching quickly came to the realization that the topic of Project Management is not well represented on that website. The website may provide same interesting examples, but I suspect not much more.

More Text Books

Got some more text books today, some looked very good, although most just cover the topic in some more or less generic manor, in many ways when a book is 300- 350 pages, the topic is basically covered, no matter how complex. Thus getting more text books really does not add much , so I need to look though them and pick out the better ones and I may have to return some of the not so good ones.

Text Books

Finally, have got hold of a number of text books, including a copy of "A Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge: Third Edition. 2004

Haven't really had much time to look through the text books just yet, saving that for Sunday, and maybe Monday. By Monday the project time line will be in place and will be able to start to plan things better.

Project Planning

I am getting Project Standard 2007 installed today on my computer, I will be able to plan out the whole of the project, and It will help keep the process on time and in control.

Enrolled

I am now enrolled in my project dissertation course, the university servers where down for maintenance, I guess they have to do maintenance sometimes. So I had to what for a while. Any way it's all done now.

Just found a great way to save files to this blog. This will come in handy for those files that need saving, and need ready access too from any where.

Good News

Good News the Course Coordinator emailed back the new subject codes, this is good as it's just saved a trip in to Uni to sort out the problem. Now I can go ahead and enroll the the subject.

Enrolling

After some hours trying to enroll on the Uni's web enrollment page. I have come to the realization, that the Uni has the study periods for the study in the reverse over. Thus I have not been able to enroll as the system, realizes that it's not possible.

Wrote a email to the Assistant Course Coordinator for Project Dissertation. Hopefully eveyrything will be corrected quickly, so that I can get library borrowing rights back again. For some reason, all library access is available, however book borrowing is tied to study enrollment, thus at this point in time it's holding me back just slightly.

Due to my expert resourcefulness, I just found and gained access to a number of project management texts from another source. True some of this source is both very useful, but at the same time it's also not. Either way it's another source. Sometimes excessive amounts of useful information, is not useful.
